Materials

SE VISTA ensures that EVERY fabric we use is biodegradable and free from fossil fuel.

Durability contributes to sustainability, hence the use of synthetic threads and rubber until biodegradable materials as strong are discovered.

  • 5 stages of creating ramie fiber

    Stonewashed Ramie

Our stonewashed ramie-cotton blend (80% RA, 20% CO) is the cornerstone of SE VISTA's collection. Historically produced in China for over 6,000 years, ramie nettle is a testament to durability and sustainability. Simular to linen, this ancient fiber, combined with cotton, creates a fabric that is not only biodegradable and non-toxic but also incredibly strong and breathable. The stonewashing process softens the material, giving it a timeless, well-loved feel from the first wear. By choosing OEKO-TEX certified ramie, we ensure that our fabrics are free from harmful chemicals, supporting both your health and the environment.

  • Mother-of-Pearl Buttons

At SE VISTA, we believe in the beauty of nature. Our mother-of-pearl buttons are a sustainable and elegant alternative to synthetic options. Harvested from the inner shell layer of mollusks, these buttons are not only biodegradable but also add a touch of timeless elegance to our designs.

  • Cotton Interlining

We incorporate cotton interlining in our garments to elevate their structure and lifespan. Cotton, a natural and biodegradable fiber, provides an optimal mix of durability and comfort. Our preference is to minimize cotton usage, but it continues to be one of the most sustainable options on the market.

  • Cotton and Synthetic Threads

Threads play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our apparel. While our resilient natural fabrics have a lifespan of 7-10 years or more, natural threads, such as cotton, deteriorate sooner. This is why we reinforce the main seams with synthetic threads - safeguarding your clothing from potential holes!

  • Synthetic Rubber Band

Our elastic elements are supported by high quality Japanese synthetic rubber bands, delivering the necessary flexibility and durability for functional wear. While we strive to find greener alternatives, the current synthetic rubber option ensures our garments longevity in maintaining shape and comfort.

  • Our Suppliers

We source our fabrics from reputable wholesalers in Germany and the Netherlands, who have the power to demand eco-certification from their Chinese partners. While we are a small brand and currently lack the resources to verify sustainability across the entire supply chain independently, we rely on our wholesalers' stringent standards to ensure our materials are ethically produced and eco-friendly. Looking ahead, we are excited to partner with Spanish and Portuguese producers for future collections. These producers are known for their exemplary commitment to environmental sustainability, aligning perfectly with our mission to create planet-friendly apparel.
